Randomize Your Sock Drawer

First off, I want you to laugh. So, I'm gonna share a video with you of a 3 yr. old girl who gives her opinion on what she would do if a monster ever came into her house. Or, out of her TV:

Now, I'm going to attempt to group the rest of my socks into one blog. Here we go.

Last week I got a Blu-Ray disc that came with 300 high definition Spartans and a naked sex scene. Wendy bought me the High-Def version of 300 for my birthday. Thanks baby!

I don't know if you've had the pleasure of seeing so much manliness ever in one movie, but I highly recommend checking this action-packed gorefest. It is nothing short of sex for all of your senses, minus your groin.

Last week we were visiting the parents and we happened to watch a couple of Scrubs episodes. Yes, I'm late to this fucking party but holy fuck is this show hilarious. Each episode I watched had me laughing my ass off with all of the random shit the show has to offer. Like, the main characters monologues are fucking classic. Anyhoo, I picked up season 1 to watch with Wendy when she gets here next tuesday. I'm hoping she likes it as much as I do.

Sony Network released their new Folklore Demo last night. I was just about to hit the sack for the night when I found out about it, and ended up staying up two hours past my bed time. If that alone isn't enough to tell you that the game is fucking awesome, then I don't know what is. Incase you need further proof, the game is absolutely gorgeous, the animation is spot-on and the gameplay above all else is very, very fun. Not to mention how perfect the six-axis controller works with the game.

Basically, the game is about ghosts and spirits. After you beat up baddies enough, you can see their Folk (spirit) trying to leave their bodies. You can tell how much life they possess by the color of their Folk. Blue means they are still pretty healthy, but when they hit Red it means you can't steal their Folk. This is where the Six-Axis controller comes into play. Once the Folk hits green, you must press the R1 button and physically tilt your controller up (kinda like if you were fishing) to steal the Folk. I was afraid this new control method wouldn't work perfectly but each time I stole Folk, it worked amazingly well.

Once Folks have been stolen, you can map them out to your controller. Each Folk comes with different strengths. Some will block for you, attack, or powerfully attack. This alone adds a whole new strategy to the game as you'll want to level your Folk up and gain new ones for different attacks. What is cool is that when you use their attacks, the Folk are breifly seen attacking before they disappear again. Its a minor touch but I like it a lot. Like in this picture, where the defending Folk is guarding his master:

Anyhow, the game is a lot of fun and I can't wait to play the whole game once it ships this October.

Now, for this whole past week I've been hooked on Bioshock. Is the game worth the hype? Yes, and then some. As I've said before and what you probably already know, the game takes place in a Dystopia. Incase Blink reads this far down, a Dystopia is an imaginary place where shit has gone very wrong.

The game takes place in the 60s but the city of Rapture still has much of the 40s/50s vibe going on. Which makes sense because it was built in the 40s and has since gone down the shitter. Basically this city was once a great city but when scientist found a slug that changed the human DNA, all hell broke loose. Soon a war was waged over this new substance called Adam which gave its user magic, but also changed the way he/she looked. The game is pretty freaky and the level design is absolutely amazing. The graphics are badass and the gameplay has a shitton of variety. This game is quite possibly one of the best FPSs I've played in a long time. The story just keeps getting better and better, which is quite a feat because most companies just tack on crappy stories to their FPSs. I mean, at one point one of the bad guys has you hunting down humans (not yet turned by Adam) to kill them because he hates them. Not only that, after they are killed he wants you to snap a photo of their dead bodies so he can create an art masterpiece for himself. Freaky-ass-shit. Shit like this just wows me. Every aspect of the game is near-perfect.

If ever you were going to play a game, Bioshock should be at the top of your list. Also, I dare you to try and harvest a Little Sister with only a Wrench:

If ever there was anything freaky, its these Little Sisters yelling "KILL HIM MR. BUBBLES...KILL HIM!!!"

Now, onto a complete change of topic:

Dave has an amazing post over on his blog about some huge stuff that went down in his life this past year. When I found out about it, I really didn't know what to say to him. Maybe nothing I could say would make a difference. Anyhow, Dave has a peculiar way of writing that I enjoy. His "This Side of Blue" really hit some strings for me. Makes all of the shit I talk about seem so pointless. I highly suggest checking out his blog for some witty posts.

Whew, I think I've written enough to start a small book. Hope you guys enjoyed it.

First, long post but good, it hurt my eyes. Second, I told you about scrubs a long ass time ago, but you never listen, but I guess I'm used to that. Third, scary little kids in a video game? No thanks, I've seen enough children of the corn to last me a lifetime.

That game does seem freaky. Just distract her with candy then bash her face in FTW!

And thanks for the shout out, "peculiar" is probably the most unexpectedly awesome compliment about my writing I've ever gotten.
